Welcome to the 11th Annual
2024 Oak Bluffs Bluewater Classic
The Oak Bluffs Bluewater Classic is a multi-location event held in Falmouth and Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts. The OBBC continues to raise funds for a variety of local charities, which include the Island Autism Group, the MV Boys & Girls Club, the MV Food Pantry, the MGH Colon Cancer Research Fund, Fishing For The Mission 22, and The Vineyard House. This year the OBBC will be donating proceeds to The Vineyard House and the MGH Colon Cancer Research Fund in memory of Kevin Glynn.
We have some very exciting changes happening for 2024. For starters, the OBBC will be offering a small boat division. This will be for vessels 38 feet and under only. There will be separate calcutta entries for this small boat division as well as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place small boat division tournament trophies/prizes. A $10,000 cash prize (separate from calcuttas) will be awarded to the winning boat in this division. (prize amount is based on 20 boats) Small boat division teams will still have the option to compete in the OBBC main division if they so choose. All tournament entrants must select a tournament division to fish. They cannot fish both divisions. This added division is simply to allow smaller vessels the opportunity to only compete with boats in their size class. It will not affect over-all tournament rules.
The OBBC has created an all new Bluefin Tuna Category. This will offer boats some newly added bluefin tuna prize divisions. The OBBC will offer a 1st place trophy for the heaviest bluefin (commercial quota/73" or greater), a 1st place trophy for the heaviest bluefin (rec quota 72" and under) and a trophy prize for most bluefin caught. Participating boats must abide by state and federal regulations. Boat size divisions will not be applicable to bluefin catches in the OBBC. For bluefin tuna only, harpoons will be allowed. Fighting from the rod holder and passing the rod will be allowed. As a result, bluefin tuna will no longer count for points in the OBBC. It is simply a separate competition category. Please visit the rules page for additional information.
We are also excited to announce that our Falmouth weigh station will be held at the Flying Bridge Restaurant on Falmouth Harbor. This will create a fun and highly interactive atmosphere for our participants and the general public. There will be live music during the weigh in times, as well as OBBC signature series drinks. Tournament weigh in information, standings, and highlights will be offered on the OBBC phone app. "Oak Bluffs Bluewater Classic"

Boats can fish from any port! The OBBC encompasses an overnight adventure, allowing entrants to fish two straight days before returning to the dock. Boats can fish 2 out of 4 fishing days. Fishing days must be declared ahead of time on the day before departure. See our rules for details. Both weigh stations will be open to the public. Come help us celebrate the Cape Cod lifestyle!
