Scott Sinclair

Scotty was born with salt in his veins thirty years ago in the small coastal town of Marshfield, Massachusetts, a seacoast village thirty miles south of Boston. Growing up in a seacoast town, it was only natural that Scotty's love of the ocean would influence his vocation in life. As a young boy, he spent every summer on board his father's many boats fishing the waters of Cape Cod Bay.
It truly began on a trip in early September circa 1990 when Scotty caught a bout of "Tuna Fever" and had to skip school that day. He was fishing aboard his father's 29' sportfish the "Debitz & Creditz". Scott and his dad(another fish nut) were anchored up fishing for monster bluefin tuna in Cape Cod Bay. His father had brought along some really funky balloons in the shape of Mickey Mouse's head that belonged to Scotty as a much younger child.(at least thats what Scotty sais) "It was quite a funny sight to see Mickey's head bobbing gently on the surface and then suddenly disappear into the depths only to just as quickly burst back ten feet out of the water, FISH ON!." Two hours later, a 400 pound giant bluefin tuna was lying on the deck of the "Debitz & Creditz." The fish was brought to the dock, pictures were taken and Scotty became an instant celebrity when the photos showed up in the local newspaper accompanied with the Mickey Mouse balloon premise. Scotty fought hard against acquiring the nickname Mickey, and eventually, after months of verbal abuse, prevailed.
Scotty is known for his relentless persuit of catching fish. He will do just about anything to land a big fish, including jumping in a cold ocean 60 miles offshore to free a gaff line attatched to an 805 pound 10 foot tuna that was caught around the rudder of his dads boat. Scotty spent 20 minutes bobbing beneath the waves and holding his breath while the monster fish circled ten feet beneath him. This particular fish can be seen in some of the Scott photos, and was caught in July of 06.
While in school, during summers, Scotty worked at Fisherman's Outfitter, a reputable fishing tackle chain in the NewEngland area. He attended the University of Rhode Island where he studied Marine and Coastal Management, and a few other things other than academics. Scott is also a licensed USCG captain. His knowledge of the local fishing habitat, many years of being on the water and likeable outgoing personality allowed him to gain the respect of the fishing community. Scotty is a fun personality. He has worked on and off for me on the Castafari for the passed 10 years. We are all looking foward to welcoming him on the Castafari full time in 07!
