| We had the pleasure to welcome first time Castafari customer Jim Fallon and crew for an outing to the blue water. Unfortunately we couldnt get to the edge for two days as we were blown out on day one. I decided to run the boat for a prolonged one day trip to atlantis canyon. we fished for several hours from the Dumping Grounds and all through the shipping lanes but saw no action at all. We ended up running all the way out to the edge and eventually stumpled across some decent water to the west of the western wall of west atlantis. Water was 75 degrees. We tripled up on white marlin and wound up with one fish. Not long after we hooked and released a second fish. The guys also managed a couple of 50 pound yellowfin and a couple of mahi, one in the 20 pound class. Overall a decent day. It would be nice if the fish came in a little closer. Im guessing a few more weeks til that heats up. The canyons are producing good action this year! Lets hope it continues;) |
